PSL مخفف سطح مشخصات محصول (Product Specification Level) است. در API 5L، PSL1 و PSL2 دو سطح مشخصات محصول‌اند و تفاوت آن‌ها در دسته‌های تعریف‌شده‌ای از الزامات فنی، از جمله ترکیب شیمیایی و کنترل‌های مرتبط، دیده می‌شود. جزئیات هر سطح باید با توجه به گرید، روش ساخت و ویرایش حاکم استاندارد خوانده شود.

ساختار نام‌گذاری در API 5L

اجزای نام‌گذاری در API 5L هرکدام معنی مشخصی دارند. گرید، سطح مشخصات محصول، وضعیت تحویل (Delivery Condition) در مواردی که بخشی از نام‌گذاری است، و روش ساخت، اطلاعات متفاوتی درباره محصول ارائه می‌کنند. این اجزا جای یکدیگر را نمی‌گیرند و شکل رسمی آن‌ها باید مطابق همان ویرایش استاندارد خوانده شود. این اجزای نام‌گذاری ممکن است در مدارک فنی محصول نیز ثبت شوند؛ تعریف و معنای هر جزء باید از خود استاندارد خوانده شود.

برداشت‌های نادرست درباره PSL

جدول زیر چند برداشت نادرست درباره PSL را نشان می‌دهد و تفاوت هر مورد را با مفهوم فنی مربوط توضیح می‌دهد.

PSL2 یعنی Schedule بالاترSchedule به ابعاد لوله مربوط است و با سطح مشخصات محصول یکی نیست.

PSL2 یعنی فشار مجاز بیشترفشار مجاز از محاسبات طراحی و مشخصات ابعادی و مکانیکی ماده به دست می‌آید و مستقیماً از نام PSL تعیین نمی‌شود.

X52 همیشه یک ماده واحد استنام گرید باید همراه با سطح مشخصات محصول، وضعیت تحویل و روش ساخت خوانده شود تا مشخصات محصول به‌درستی شناخته شود.

PSL2 همیشه جای PSL1 را می‌گیردهر سطح مشخصات، مجموعه تعریف‌شده خود را دارد و کاربرد آن باید در محدوده فنی سند حاکم بررسی شود.

Moving from PSL1 to PSL2 is not a label change

Product Specification Level (PSL) is part of the technical definition of API 5L line pipe and identifies the level of product requirements applied to that definition. Moving from PSL1 to PSL2 is therefore not a wording change: requirement categories associated with manufacture, chemistry and properties, testing and traceability can be treated at a different level. The exact consequence is not identical for every grade or manufacturing route and has to be read from the governing API 5L edition together with grade and the other elements that define the product. PSL is neither a pressure class nor a substitute for grade; it identifies the product-specification level within the standard.

Correct API 5L designation structure

The elements used to define an API 5L product carry different technical meanings and should not be collapsed into one another. API 5L identifies the product specification; PSL identifies the product-specification level; grade identifies the strength/property designation defined by the standard; delivery condition, where it forms part of the designation, describes the supplied metallurgical or processing condition; and manufacturing route describes how the pipe is produced, such as seamless or an applicable welded route. Together these elements complete the technical identity, but no single element substitutes for the others. Formal designation syntax and permissible suffixes must be taken from the governing edition rather than assembled freely from technical terms.

Build a complete order designation

Writing X52 PSL2 alone is insufficient. Outside diameter, wall, manufacture, delivery condition, length, service, supplementary tests and certificate requirements must be traceable through the order and MTC.
